Rachel McAdams has definitely moved on from her bitchy prom princess role in Mean Girls, and is not only a well-rounded actress … but a gorgeous one! Almost nothing she does looks bad, so why not take a leaf out of her style book for your next visit to a London nightclub? Today we're checking out her crowning glory - her hair - which is a perfect mix of up-dos, relaxed and casual styles, and always has plenty of 'wiggle-room' in the styles for you to copy!
If you've got fine to medium hair, and little hair across your head, this is a great London nightlife style for you. It creates a wonderfully filled out look, and is sooooo easy to do! Even if you spend your whole pre-nightclub afternoon having preparatory drinks rather than getting ready, you can still look hot. Here's how to do it:
- Dampen your hair and scrunch styling mousse through it
- Part it either over the middle of your left or right eye
- Clip away a section of your hair from the front right, if you've parted to the left, or the front left if you parted to the right.
- Blowdry your hair with a radial brush - pull the brush straight out from your scalp from the roots to halfway down the shaft, and curve it around the brush after that. Do the back first, then the sides.
- Blowdry your fringe off in the opposite direction to your part. If you parted to the left (as in the picture), then blowdry your fringe to the right.
- Blowdry the section you clipped away earlier off to the opposite side from your part.
- Curl the mid lengths and the ends of your hair with a curling iron
- Finish the ends of your hair with styling wax - pinch and piece them out
If you want to, apply some smoothing serum and lacquer to the mid lengths and ends of your hair.
To copy this Rachel McAdams style well for your next night of clubbing in London, you'll need to do a bit more prep … including getting your hair razor cut! This style is extremely easy if you have the base there already. Once you've got the cut, here's how to get that awesomely sexy look:
- While you hair is still damp, give it a spritz with gel spray and work some mousse through it#
- Part it to whichever side you prefer
- Section your hair off into two back and two side portions on each side - four total
- Blow dry the back 'out' - so pull your brush out as you dry from root to tip
- Do the same with the sides
- Dry the crown
- Apply some wax to the back of your hair, and lift the crown with wax also.
