Makeup tips for Nightclubs in London -- 5 Ways to Get the Glam Look

Every London nightclub has a different look -- the creativity and invention that goes into designing your own appearance for a night out can be one of the most fun parts of the night! If you're off to a glam-fest this weekend, where sultriness, grace, an aloof air and princessly demeanour are mandatory, today we are showing you how to do your makeup to match!
Eyelash extensions
There is nothing that can make you feel instantly sexier or more glamourous than eyelash extensions. Standard black ones are usually used in a glam setting -- bold party colors aren't usually appropriate for a glam look. There's no need to do your entire lashline -- check out how the eyelash extensions are attached in the picture above. A little can go a long way -- this is also an overarching theme of the glam look.
Red lipstick/nude lipstick
Either one of these looks can be considered equally glamorous. You'll want to balance it out against what you’re doing with the rest of your look and outfit for Saturday at your London nightclub. If you have big hair, false lashes and a sparkling dress, red lipstick will start to look trashy rather than glamorous.
Flawless complexions
We mentioned that being glam is about being seen as perfect -- so spend plenty of time getting your base foundation right. Match it as closely to your normal skin tone as you can, and don't be afraid to layer powder on top of foundation. The dark, unnatural atmosphere of nightclubs in London won’t make you look like a wax figurine, it will just add to your glam effect.
Shoulder makeup?
Your shoulders are probably not the first thing you think about when you’re planning your makeup look for the night -- but being glam is about being polished and perfect, and so many glamorous outfits are strapless that it would be crazy to ignore your shoulders! Don't use heavy glitter (too much to be glam!), but definitely buff them and apply a lightly shimmering moisturiser.
Blush
For most of us, blush looks a little outdated for daytime wear. If you’re going for the glam look at a London nightclub, though, you'll look underdressed if you go without! Blush should be applied to the hollows of your cheeks, and should always look natural. Purple eyeshadow can be glam … purple blush can definitely not!

Reconnaissance: New Year's Eve at London's Hippest parties

How was your New Year's Eve? Most of us had a great time, no matter what club you went to, how much you drank and how much you danced and chatted. New Year's Eve always feels special -- today we are looking back at one of the biggest nights of the year for London nightclubs, checking out the merriment that was had at some of London's hippest and most happening clubs.
Abbey Bar and Club
Best known for Soul Saturdays, Abbey bar and club was a very chill place to be on New Year's Eve this year! Tunes by Luther Vandross, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas, and the most nostalgic performer of the year, Michael Jackson -- still here in spirit. The vibe was very happy, very bouncy, and very friendly … more than a little kissy, as well, when midnight rolled around! The party kicked on 'til just after 3 a.m., although doors officially shut at 3.
Winter Wonderland Party at Chloe in Kensington
There is no London nightclub more sophisticated than Chloe in Kensington -- a nice easy place for people to chat, meet, and share their hopes for the New Year. Chloe is a very dark, safe-feeling club -- there was never a hint of ill-will this NYE, just good ties to be had by all. Music covered all the pop classics … even the cynics could be found singing along!
The Living Room's W1
Glam was back with a vengeance in the West End -- from gleefully overdone hair to true elegance, you could find a range of glam at The Living Room W1 this year. The club is only a 5-minute walk from Piccadilly or Oxford Circus station, so we had quite a few responsible drinkers show up. Soul and club classics defined the feel of the night at this London nightclub -- Jacko and Madge made a few appearances, to many shouted lyrics, and Lady Gaga and Rihanna kept it contemporary.
