Blowdry your hair with a radial brush - pull the brush straight out from your scalp from the roots to halfway down the shaft, and curve it around the brush after that. Do the back first, then the sides.
Blowdry your fringe off in the opposite direction to your part. If you parted to the left (as in the picture), then blowdry your fringe to the right.
Blowdry the section you clipped away earlier off to the opposite side from your part.
Curl the mid lengths and the ends of your hair with a curling iron
Finish the ends of your hair with styling wax - pinch and piece them out

If you want to, apply some smoothing serum and lacquer to the mid lengths and ends of your hair.

If you get to the point of vomiting … drink water

Ask your sober buds to remind you to drink a couple of big glasses of water if you tell them you’re about to spew. It will dilute your stomach acid and be a lot kinder to your throat and teeth.

Don't mix wine and beer

We don't know why. We are not chemists, unfortunately. But anecdotal evidence universally suggests that hangovers are much worse when you've been drinking both wine and beer. The vibe was very happy, very bouncy, and very friendly … more than a little kissy, as well, when midnight rolled around! The party kicked on 'til just after 3 a.m., although doors officially shut at 3.

Winter Wonderland Party at Chloe in Kensington

There is no London nightclub more sophisticated than Chloe in Kensington -- a nice easy place for people to chat, meet, and share their hopes for the New Year. Chloe is a very dark, safe-feeling club -- there was never a hint of ill-will this NYE, just good ties to be had by all. Music covered all the pop classics … even the cynics could be found singing along!

The Living Room's W1

Glam was back with a vengeance in the West End -- from gleefully overdone hair to true elegance, you could find a range of glam at The Living Room W1 this year. The club is only a 5-minute walk from Piccadilly or Oxford Circus station, so we had quite a few responsible drinkers show up. Soul and club classics defined the feel of the night at this London nightclub -- Jacko and Madge made a few appearances, to many shouted lyrics, and Lady Gaga and Rihanna kept it contemporary.

Alcohol poisoning can and does happen -- we look at how to recognize the symptoms in your friends, how to prevent it occurring and what to do at your London nightclub if you suspect someone really has drunk too much.

Preventing alcohol poisoning

The only sure way to prevent alcohol poisoning is not to drink so much that you feel out of control. However, it can be difficult to keep your head on straight when everybody is partying around you in your London nightclub. Here are some tips for keeping yourself, and your friends, under control:

Alternate each alcoholic drink with a non-alcoholic one. Mocktails are a great option -- all the fun, none of the danger
Make sure you eat something before going out -- this will slow the absorption of alcohol by your body, and ensure you have enough time to recognize how drunk you are getting.
Even if you aren’t driving, try to have a designated sober person at your London nightclub to keep an eye on everyone's safety.

Their skin looks blue and is very cold

When you can’t just sleep it off

Someone with alcohol poisoning may choke on their own vomit; their breathing or heart beat may simply slow down so much that it stops; they may die of hypothermia if the room temperature is not high enough; they may develop brain damage through severe dehydration by vomiting.

Should you tell someone?

Yes -- always. Alcohol poisoning is frequently fatal. If you can’t use your phone in a London nightclub, look for a bouncer or staff member to help. Don’t play with your friends' lives for the fear of getting into trouble. Medical confidentiality means that there are usually no legal consequences. Anyway, wouldn’t you much rather your friend be in a little trouble, than not around at all?
